ACS Newsletter May 17, 2026

Greetings, Coyote Families.

It is hard to believe that this is the last Newsletter for the 2025-2026 school year! This has been one for the books! I am grateful for the hard work that everyone has put in, from students to staff, and especially to the parents, for such a great transition. This summer, we will look hard at feedback and make next year even better! This newsletter will be shorter, but still contain important information. Have a Wonderful Summer!

TESTING TIME

We still have a few days of testing remaining. Students still need to come to school ready to work and learn. Although the stakes are a bit lower for students who are done, teachers have still prepared lessons to prepare our students for next year as well.

DRESS CODE CONCERNS

All students were spoken to about the dress code. While it seems to have become a focus, we have not changed the rules or their enforcement; there are just more infractions lately that need to be addressed. Please monitor what your child(ren) wear to school so that we don’t have to call for a clothing change, even on the last week of school!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The last day of school will now dismiss at 12:15!

Let's celebrate our first PACK leaving the DEN

GIRLS ON THE RUN!

COYOTE CAFE

The Coyote Cafe will be open until May 21st.  Please help our ACS Ambassadors raise funds for our food pantry every week by buying fresh fruit, crackers, granola bars, juice boxes, flavored water, and other delicious treats in the elementary gym during morning carline.  Thank you for your continued support.

GENESIS BEFORE/AFTERSCHOOL UPDATE!

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

“Mental health is wealth, especially during Mental Health Awareness Month. The stigma around mental health and treatment has long existed, even though this has started to change. Still, people hesitate to seek help or even talk about it with their loved ones for fear of being judged and facing unnecessary backlash. Simple logic dictates that if we are hurt anywhere, we must seek treatment to get better. This applies to both our mental and physical well-being.” -National Today

Please read the May is Mental Health Awareness Month (ACS 2026) document to learn ways that you & your family can take part in ending mental health bias and discrimination, and help build a healthy nation that celebrates children's strengths.

VOLUNTEERING

We have loved having so many volunteers in the classroom! Thank you for supporting our students and staff!

Volunteerism at our school is a way for you, parents and guardians, to learn more about ACS, engage in a positive way with your child’s teachers, and witness firsthand the hard work and dedication that all our staff - teachers, assistants, support staff, and administrators demonstrate each and every day.

It is also a way to support your student and other students by assisting with workstations or small groups, helping with clerical tasks or lunch, and/or reading a book to the class. You don't have to be an educator to volunteer, and everyone is welcome.  Please click on the ACS Volunteer Form Link below to find ways you can volunteer to support our school.
