Greetings Coyote Families!
This is our last newsletter before Winter Break! Make sure to read the entire newsletter for updates and reminders, and check out the week's highlights below.
SPIRIT WEEK
Please see the flyer below for our final spirit week of 2024! One important note: No Bonnets, slippers, blankets, or nighttime accessories are allowed; only holiday pajamas are permitted.

EARLY RELEASE
We will begin dismissal at 11:45 on Friday, December 19, 2025. Please make sure you are on time for pickup. If you utilize after-school vans, ensure that your after-school locations are aware of the pickup time.

Holiday Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts to our ACS students. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated. Families who signed up to receive gifts may stop by the front office during regular school hours between December 15 and 18th.

COYOTE CAFE!
We have one more week of Coyote Cafe before our break. Please stop by this Thursday for a snack or drink for only $1. The money raised goes to purchase meals for some of our families. Your support is appreciated.
Ambassadors
Thank you to all our fabulous ACS Ambassadors who brave the cold to help in carline every morning, raise money for our food pantry at the Coyote Cafe, and do many other things around the school. Your leadership and service do not go unnoticed!

ACS SPORTS UPDATE
After a week full of snow flurries, remote days, and game cancellations, the Coyotes would finish the week with a match-up vs. Gorman Christian Academy in Durham, NC. Teams would try to bounce back following a delayed return to hoops from NC early winter weather!
This week Girls & Boys Basketball Team will enter their 7th week of the season. The Coyotes will be on the road for their final two games of 2025, prior to Winter Break! This week, teams will take on The Bulldogs of Roxboro Community School & The Griffins of Excelsior Classical Academy.
ACS Athletic Fees:
Athletic Families, please ensure your athletes' Infinite Campus account to make sure you have satisfied your athletic fees!
All payments needed to be submitted by 12/5/25. Unpaid Winter sports athletes are not permitted to play if fees have not been paid. This includes; (Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball & Cheerleading) Parents(Guardians) please make sure that you have made this required payment.
Failure to pay the $25 athletic fee will impact your athletes' participation status and may disqualify them from receiving end of year athletic awards at our sports banquet.

ACS Week Recap:
12/8 Home Basketball vs. Durham Charter (Durham, NC) Canceled
12/9 Home Basketball vs. The Burlington School (PMAC) Canceled
12/11 Away Basketball vs. Gorman Christian Academy (Durham, NC)
The Lady Coyotes would travel to the I-85 North to play the Lady Eagles of Gorman Christian Academy. The team would play short-handed. Lady Coyotes are looking to get their first non-conference win of the season. The Lady Coyotes would have a tough night handling the ball and would be forced into several turnovers in the game.
6th Grade Forward #34 Laliah King would help the Coyotes play a tough inside defensive game by securing 8 rebounds in the game. 6th Grade Center #12 Peyton Swann would be one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block in the game.The Lady Eagles would find the arch early and finish the game 3/6 from 3-point line. The Coyotes of ACS would play a scrappy Gorman Christian Academy team. Coyotes looked to get back in the win column following the conference loss to Burlington Christian Academy. Coyotes and Eagles would trade baskets in the first quarter of play, with Gorman with a slim 12-10 lead after the first quarter. Coyotes would attack them, and lock in on the defensive end, forcing fouls in the second. The team would go into the half 22-18.
Coyotes would jump out in the third quarter and outscore the Eagles by going on an 18-5 run in the 3rd. But the Eagles would keep the game close. Captain/Forward #23 Camden Hawkins 16 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assists. Center #30 Elliot French would score 8 points, 4 rebounds & first year guard #4 A'Syah Sutton would chip in 7 points, 2 steals! Coyotes would pull away late and grab their 3rd win of the season 42 -37!

SPORTS PHYSICALS:
Middle School students in grades 6th-8th interested in trying out for ACS Sports would need to submit a new physical examination form and concussion form for 25-26.
Sports Physical and Concussion Form are required to try out for sports teams at Alamance Community School. These forms can be found and printed on the link below:
