Thank you for a full and eventful week. As we continue to move through the year, let’s celebrate a few things:
Great job to our Fall sports as they wrap up a very successful season.
We are in the THICK of all things school now. That includes testing and fundraising.
Thank you for supporting our arts, our sports, and our STEM programs. I know we’re asking for a lot, but any help makes sure our students have the best educational experience possible!
Boosterthon is underway… We are looking forward to more fun, so stay tuned!
Our first check-in starts this week. It is important that students are at school, not just every day, but all day when possible. This maximizes learning opportunities and keeps students from falling behind. This also allows the school and teachers to collect correct and relevant data to provide a more useful and targeted instruction. EOGs are a vital part of schools, enrollment, and funding, so we want to start early, instilling the importance now so that students have less pressure and more Practice with performing well.
Elementary Carline Reminder: Please Do Not Use the Inner Circle: We understand mornings/afternoons can be rushed, but we need your help to keep carline safe! For the safety of our students/staff/parents, and to maintain an efficient traffic flow, please remember that the inner lane/circle is closed for afternoon carline and should not be used. Utilizing only the outer two lanes helps us keep the line moving smoothly and safely. This requires you to follow the whole loop around. If you do not adhere to this rule, you will be asked to exit the carline and re-enter the correct way. Thank you for your cooperation!
There have been several changes, not just at ACS, but at schools all over North Carolina. Know that the changes we implement are not to frustrate you. Change can be hard, but we will only implement changes that make ACS more efficient and keep our staff and students safe. Supporting the changes will help them run smoothly when implemented. When implementing change, know that complaints almost always slow the process, but potential solutions are always welcomed. Thank you all again, and let's have a great week!
26-27 School Calendar
On Thursday, the ACS Board of Directors approved the 2026 - 2027 School Calendar. It is attached, so you can easily download and save it, in addition to printing it.
The 2026 - 2027 School Calendar is also posted on our website under the Parents Tab > School Calendar and Schedules 2026-27 School Calendar.
Two important dates to add to your calendar are:
Monday, August 3, 2026 is the first staff workday &
Tuesday, August 11, 2026 is the first day of school for students
Please review the 2026-27 school calendar carefully to ensure that your vacations are planned for the different holidays and breaks and do not occur when school is in session.

VOLUNTEERING
We have loved having so many volunteers in the classroom! Thank you for supporting our students and staff!
Volunteerism at our school is a way for you, parents and guardians, to learn more about ACS, engage positively with your child’s teachers, and witness firsthand the hard work and dedication that all our staff - teachers, assistants, support staff, and administrators demonstrate each day.
It is also a way to support your student and other students by assisting with workstations or a small group, helping with clerical tasks or lunch, and/or something as simple as reading a book to the class. You do not have to be an educator to volunteer, and everyone is welcome! Please click on the ACS Volunteer Form Link below to find ways that you can volunteer to help support our school! https://forms.gle/6iPiTAYNhm14BezV6
