ACS Newsletter November 2, 2025

Somebody shout 'MYBOOSTER.COM'!!!!!!!! WE are about ⅓ of the way to our goal of $40,000, and still have some work to do. Thank you in advance for working to ensure we have what we need to function well as a school and provide our students with the necessary resources through the arts, Sports, and STEM.  A reminder for our new families: please know that we will be tired after the next few weeks, but also know that it will be worth it. Booster is a program that not only builds community and school spirit, but it is also one of our most lucrative fundraisers, allowing us to continue functioning independently of a large district and ensuring our students receive the best educational experience possible. Keep a lookout for all things booster via email, Newsletters, and social media. The Fun Run is the culminating event; the schedule is below.

*Several Students and Families are still not registered, and its not too late. Go to mybooster.com and register today!

The Goal is $40,000 with at least 40 states represented. We haven’t officially kicked off yet, but we've already raised almost $13,000 and have representatives from 19 states! The Fun Run/Glow Run on Thursday, November 6th, is an opportunity for families to come and cheer on their students (they are also free to leave with them after they finish!). (Photo)

THis WEEK:

  • Elementary Carline Reminder: Please Do Not Use the Inner Circle: We understand mornings/afternoons can be rushed, but we need your help to keep carline safe! For the safety of our students/staff/parents, and to maintain an efficient traffic flow, please remember that the inner lane/circle is closed for afternoon carline and should not be used. Utilizing only the outer two lanes helps us keep the line moving smoothly and safely. This requires you to follow the whole loop around. If you do not adhere to this rule, you will be asked to exit the carline and re-enter the correct way. Thank you for your cooperation!

Clothing Donations Needed

We have had a few requests for some gently used clothing for the fall and winter seasons.  If you have any of the following sizes and are willing to donate them, we would greatly appreciate it.  You may drop the clothing off at the front office and we will make sure they get to the appropriate families.

Boys'/Mens' Fall/Winter Clothing Sizes-  9-24 months, 3T, 7/8, 8y, 8-10, 13y, 30x32 mens' pants, small mens' shirts, M/L mens' sweatpants

Boys/Mens' Shoes- Toddler 7.5-8, 2.5y, Mens 10-10.5

Girls' Fall/Winter Clothing Sizes- 6/7, 8 (pants especially!)

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Community Outreach Coordinator

There have been several changes, not just at ACS, but at schools all over North Carolina. Know that the changes we implement are not to frustrate you. Change can be hard, but we will only implement changes that make ACS more efficient and keep our staff and students safe. Supporting the changes will help them run smoothly when implemented. When implementing change, know that complaints almost always slow the process, but potential solutions are always welcomed. Thank you all again, and let's have a great week!

As we prepare for our upcoming Curriculum Night, we are eager to hear your thoughts, questions, and input concerning our school's curriculum. Parent involvement is a vital part of our students' success, and your perspective is invaluable as we continue to shape and refine the educational experience here at ACS.

To ensure we receive as much feedback as possible, we kindly ask you to complete this brief survey:

Please complete the survey by Sunday, November 2nd. Your responses will help guide our talks and presentations during Curriculum Night and inform our instructional planning. Please focus strictly on the curriculum for this survey.

We look forward to a productive conversation and to seeing you on Wednesday, November 5th, for our Curriculum Night and Kindergarten - 4th Grade Project Celebrations!

Sincerely,

VOLUNTEERING

We have loved having so many volunteers in the classroom! Thank you for supporting our students and staff!

Volunteerism at our school is a way for you, parents and guardians, to learn more about ACS, engage positively with your child’s teachers, and witness firsthand the hard work and dedication that all our staff - teachers, assistants, support staff, and administrators demonstrate each day.

It is also a way to support your student and other students by assisting with workstations or a small group, helping with clerical tasks or lunch, and/or something as simple as reading a book to the class. You do not have to be an educator to volunteer, and everyone is welcome!  Please click on the ACS Volunteer Form Link below to find ways that you can volunteer to help support our school!  https://forms.gle/6iPiTAYNhm14BezV6
