Greetings, Coyote Families.
I hope you enjoyed a great weekend! Thank you for a busy and full week. We concluded our Check-ins for 3rd-8th-grade students. These data points will help guide us through the remainder of the year, so that students really show what they’ve learned on the EOGs. The window is open for mClass for our K-2nd students. To ensure students get everything they can, please make sure we arrive on time and stay all day. Early pick-ups will add up to missed instruction and affect test scores.
DRESS CODE CONCERNS
While it is getting warmer outside, students must remain in dress code. The major concerns addressed this past week were:
Tank tops and short(cut-off) shirts.
Short Shorts. Remember, shorts should be mid-Thigh. This includes biker shorts that are short as well.
Pajama pants: These should be reserved for spirit days only.
Blankets - students can wear jackets in cooler classrooms, but blankets are becoming a distraction during class and transitions. Please do not allow students to bring blankets to school.
All students were spoken to about the dress code this week. Please monitor what your child(ren) wear to school so that we don’t have to call for a clothing change.

ENERGY DRINKS NOT ALLOWED!
To keep our students safe, focused, and feeling their best, energy drinks are not allowed on campus at ACS!
⚡️ Why? These drinks often contain extremely high levels of caffeine, taurine, and other stimulants that can cause:
• Headaches 😣
• Jitters & anxiety 😬
• Trouble focusing 🌀
• Energy crashes 😴
📌 What to know:✅ Energy drinks will be confiscated and disposed of if brought to school.✅ No disciplinary action will be taken.✅ Info will be shared with families about the risks.
🚫 Examples: Red Bull, Monster, Bang, Celsius, etc.✅ Better boosts: Water 💧, Fruit 🍎, Sleep 😴, Movement 🏃♂️
Let's work together to keep our students healthy, happy, and ready to learn!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!
Teacher appreciation is coming up. As you go through your weeks, please consider contributing to our gift card drive. Our teachers work tirelessly to ensure students grow and have what they need for success at the next level. We want to make sure they feel appreciated during this week. While the gift Card drive is our main push, if you have gifts that you would like to donate for our daily drawing, please bring them to the main office. Thank you for supporting our teachers at ACS!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
The next two Wednesdays will be early release as normal. The first two Wednesdays in May will be Full Days. Remember, these are days needed to make up for time lost to Snow and Tornado warnings, and this was the better choice than adding days to the end of the year.
The following Wednesdays will now be full days:
May 6th
May 13th
The last day of school will now dismiss at 12:15!
SPRING PICTURES!
Picture Day has been rescheduled to April 23rd! We will take sports TEAM pictures on Tuesday of this week, not individual pictures. More information about the spring Pictures will be given soon!

THE GIVING MARKET
The Giving Market is still open until Midnight tonight. It's not too late for family and friends to make purchases at https://www.givingmarket.shop/150649. We are really close to the goal and have many more VIP ducks to give out, along with other prizes!

Fowler Family Art Competition Now - May 6th
The Fowler Family is hosting our first annual art competition at ACS this Spring. Beginning now through May 6th, students in any grade may enter a work of art. Students may use any art medium that is not digital and include any appropriate subject matter (Copyrighted but not traced subjects are okay for this competition). Art pieces must be submitted to Mrs. Kellie in the Art Room (213) no later than May 6th to be judged by the Fowler Family. There will be one winner per grade level and one Best in Show for each of the following groups: K-1st, 2nd-4th, and 5th-8th. Grade level winners will receive a Chick-fil-A gift card and Best in Show winners will receive $50 provided by the Fowler Family. Winners will be announced before the end of the year and put in the newsletter. Artwork will be displayed in local businesses and returned in the summer or early next year. Please include your full name, grade level, title of the artwork, and contact information on the back so the artwork may be returned. We hope all of you will enter our exciting new exclusive ACS art competition! Thank you, Fowler Family!

Campus Cleanup Challenge
It’s time for a little clean competition! Beginning this Monday, April 20th our Kindergarten and 1st grade students are challenged to help clean up our school. Ambassadors delivered tally sheets and small trash bags to classes. This week (April 20-24th) Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms will compete to see who can collect the most full bags of trash by Friday. Each FULL bag of trash will receive a tally mark on the sheet provided. Every student and teacher in the winning classroom will receive a coupon for a free item from the Coyote Cafe. Older students will compete in the coming weeks.
Are you ready for the Campus Cleanup Challenge?

COYOTE CAFE
The Coyote Cafe will be open every Thursday until May 21st. Please help our ACS Ambassadors raise funds for our food pantry every week by buying fresh fruit, crackers, granola bars, juice boxes, flavored water, and other delicious treats in the elementary gym during morning carline. Thank you for your continued support.

VOLUNTEERING
We have loved having so many volunteers in the classroom! Thank you for supporting our students and staff!
Volunteerism at our school is a way for you, parents and guardians, to learn more about ACS, engage in a positive way with your child’s teachers, and witness firsthand the hard work and dedication that all our staff - teachers, assistants, support staff, and administrators demonstrate each and every day.
It is also a way to support your student and other students by assisting with workstations or small groups, helping with clerical tasks or lunch, and/or reading a book to the class. You don't have to be an educator to volunteer, and everyone is welcome. Please click on the ACS Volunteer Form Link below to find ways you can volunteer to support our school.
