---------------- Good evening ACS Families. This is Mr. Miller with your weekly announcements.
We want to sincerely thank you to each of you as we finish our first week of the new school year for helping us to make it a success. It has been amazing to observe our staff students' passion for studying; they have done a great job of adjusting into their routines. As a reminder our kindergarteners will start full-time attendance as we get ready for our second week. For them, this is a significant turning point; we ask for your ongoing patience and support as they, together with their parents, become used to the daily program. The shift to full days can be serious, however with your support and understanding, our younger students will flourish. Our first focus is on the safety and well-being of every one of our pupils. Our staff is here to help with any questions or worries you might have throughout this change period. We value your cooperation particularly during drop-off and pick-up times since we want the procedure to go as seamless as it could. We appreciate your being such an involved and encouraging school community. The fantastic events this year have in store excite us and make us want to see our students flourish and reach their best. We hope your weekend was peaceful and that your second week is outstanding.

24-25 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION
All kindergarteners will have their first FULL school day on Monday, August 19, from 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM. Carline has been progressively smoother each day. We will be implementing a new process soon. In the meantime, please see the instructions on the next pages to make sure we get you all in and out as soon as possible.
LUNCH ORDERING
• ACS does not have an on-site cafeteria. Students eat in their classrooms or picnic outside when the weather permits. Students must either bring lunch from home or order it in advance from our hot lunch ordering service.
STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO UTILIZE DOORDASH OR OTHER RIDESHARE FOOD DELIVERY SERVICES.
• Students should also bring a daily reusable water bottle, filled with water only, which can also be refilled at our bottle-filling stations.
• When planning for your student’s snack and lunch, please be mindful of ACS’ Policies for Snack and Lunchtime, as outlined in the Parent Student Handbook & DO NOT send in sodas and colorful juice drinks from fast food restaurants.
• Parents and students are encouraged to pack a healthy lunch and snack. When a caregiver brings an outside lunch for their student, drinks must be provided in a spill-proof container. Examples include reusable water bottles, individual milk bottles, juice “boxes,” and single-use bottled water. Traditional fast food cups with lids and straws are particularly prone to spilling and making sticky messes and will, therefore, not be delivered to classrooms. In an effort to encourage healthy lifestyles and limit excessive sugar and caloric intake, sodas, sweet tea, sports drinks, and the like are highly discouraged during the instructional day.
• All students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and fill up at the water fountains and bottle filling stations.
To ensure that all students have ample time to enjoy their lunch, we ask that you either send your child with a packed lunch or order from MyHotLunch.( Make sure you order by 12pm the day before to have a lunch delivered for the next day.
We understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you may need to bring a lunch to school. If that happens, please make sure to deliver the lunch by 11:30 AM.
To streamline the process and minimize disruptions, please follow these steps:
Use the Cart: Instead of coming into the office, please place the lunch on the cart located in the waiting area.
Label the Lunch: Use the pad and marker provided to clearly label the lunch with your child’s name and grade.
Notify Your Child: If you plan to bring lunch, please inform your child before school so that they know to come down and pick it up during their lunch period.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us make lunchtime as smooth and efficient as possible for our students.
