For the past thirteen years, I have been deeply immersed in education, serving as an elementary school classroom teacher in Guilford and Pamlico County. My journey has been marked by a series of leadership roles, including grade level chair, SIT chair, Teacher of the Year, and a member of the District Technology Committee. In 2021, I had the privilege of serving as a Learning Acceleration Coordinator at Pamlico County High School, where I collaborated with the school’s admin team and other leaders to bridge the educational/SEL gap caused by the pandemic. In January 2022, I took on the role of assistant principal at Pamlico County Middle School, a position I held for 2.5 years.
My academic journey has been a testament to my commitment to learning and growth. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Elizabeth City State University and a master’s of arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. In 2022, I was honored with a superintendent nomination to participate in East Carolina University’s Principal Fellows Program, Pirate Leadership Academy, where I earned a master’s of school administration degree in May 2024.
My family, including my husband, daughter, and dog, will relocate to Mebane, NC, this summer. I love Amazon Prime, fresh pineapples, mathematics, pizza, nature trails (not the bugs), and bright colors!
Word of advice: Life is such a gift! Be present and spend time doing the things that make you happy with the ones that make you laugh/smile!
