MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Families,
It's hard to believe we have wrapped up another school year at ACS. This past week, we enjoyed end of year celebrations, project celebrations, Field Day, and more! We navigated another year of successes as well as challenges and I am proud of the resilient nature of all of our students, staff, and families who remained dedicated to the mission and values of the school. I hope you enjoy all of the pictures of these special memories below.
Although I will not be returning for the 2024-2025 school year, I look forward to following ACS and cheering you on as the school continues to embrace opportunities to provide a unique educational experience for students in the community. I want to extend heartfelt thanks to the students, staff, families, PTO, and our School Board for your support. My time at ACS has been enriching, enlightening, and invaluable. I wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful summer!
With love,
Jamie Miller
Principal
MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGING DIRECTOR
We have already begun to plan for a great 2024-25 school year! In June, we will send out more information about the first day of school on Tuesday, August 13, K - 7th Grade Supply Lists, Kindergarten Staggered Start details, the dates and times for our August Open House events, and much more!
As our students begin their summer break, I wanted to share a website of activities that can be used for at-home learning this summer. The Birth-Preschool activities align to NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development and the K-2nd Grade activities align to NC Standards. Summer At Home Learning Activity Website There is also a one-page document that includes quick links to the website above, Literacy at Home, and tips for a successful summer full of literacy! Summer Literacy Tips
Also, on the ACS Website under the Resources tab, you will find some excellent summer resources for literacy and math.
I hope all students and staff have a wonderful, restful, and safe summer!
Best,
Leslie

Rising 7th Graders: Required Immunizations
Students entering 7th grade are required to have one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine for individuals who have not already received those vaccines. Please contact your student’s health care provider or the local health department if your child needs those vaccines.
Parents/guardians of students enrolled in 7th grade will be required to provide an updated current proof of vaccination (i.e., Certificate of Immunization from the NC Immunization registry) on or before the first day of school, August 13, 2024.
If proof of vaccination is not provided within 30 calendar days of the first day of school, your child will be excluded from school until a current shot record is provided, as required by law.
Please DO NOT send your immunization certificate to school at this time. You will be asked to provide this later this spring, during our re-enrollment process for current students.
For more information on required immunizations in NC, please visit: https://immunization.dph.ncdhhs.gov/family/nc_immnz_requirements.htm
2024-25 STUDENT HEALTH ACTION PLANS and MEDICATION AUTHORIZATIONS
If your student has (or will need) a school Health or Action Plan please make sure to have the plan updated and ready to turn in at the start of next school year. Even if your student had a plan for the 2021-2022 school year, a new plan must be reviewed and authorized by the student’s healthcare provider and submitted to ACS for the 2022-2023 school year. There are a few frequently-used health plan and action plan forms available on the Documents and Forms page of the ACS website and linked below. Health plans should be submitted to the front office when students return to school in August.
Students requiring medication administration at school, including the use of inhalers and Epi Pens, must also have a Medication Authorization Form completed by their healthcare provider on file for each new school year. ALL completed forms should be submitted to the front office prior to the student needing to receive medication at school. Office staff will ensure that teachers receive copies once the forms are reviewed and approved. Please find the link for the ACS Medication Authorization Form below.
** Please note that Alamance Community School is not a part of the Alamance-Burlington School System and we cannot act upon a completed ABSS form.

We also have copies of these forms in the school office, if you need a printed blank copy. We are here to help, if you have any questions or concerns about authorizations or health action plans, please contact the school office at frontdesk@alamancecommunityschool.net.
