STATE SURVEY MEASURING SCHOOL QUALITY
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is beginning a process to overhaul school performance grades
They are seeking input from educators and the public through a new survey - SURVEY LINK.
A growing consensus of parents, community members, & educators believe that the current model does not accurately reflect all aspects of school quality because it puts too much weight on student achievement as determined by high-stakes testing with proficiency counting 80% of the grade & growth only 20%.
All are encouraged to participate & the deadline to complete the survey is October 10.
