MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear ACS Families and Staff,
The air is growing crisper as we move into the fall season, a welcome change from the summer heat!
We are looking forward to some exciting events that will take place this fall. One thing we are excited about is our Scholastic Book Fair! Another exciting tradition is our schoolwide fundraiser - Boosterthon! This is our one BIG fundraiser for the year and is a great opportunity for people near and far to help our school. Stay tuned for important updates on these events and more!
With two weeks remaining before Fall Break, I want to encourage you to have frequent conversations with your child about the purpose and importance of school. Talk about moments of pride and opportunities for growth. This helps students develop the practice of reflection and reinforces the social and emotional competencies as well as the academic competencies we teach at ACS.
Social/Emotional Competencies:
C.A.R.E.S
C - Cooperation
A - Assertiveness
R - Responsibility
E - Empathy
S - Self-Control
Academic Competencies:
Academic mindset, perseverance, learning strategies, and academic behaviors
Learn more about these competencies at: responsiveclassroom.org
We look forward to seeing everyone at school this week! As always, thank you for entrusting us with your child's education.
Best,
Jamie Miller
Principal
