Dear Families,
Since this is a short week, we are sending this out a bit early. I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and restful Thanksgiving Break! We will see you back at school on Monday, November 28.
IMPORTANT DATES
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23 - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25: THANKSGIVING BREAK (No School for Staff & Students)
BOOSTERTHON
We had an incredible time at our Boosterthon Fun Run!
Thank you for supporting our school and helping us surpass our fundraising goal!
We have currently raised just over $30,000 to help our school support Project Based Learning and to help fund an awning for carline. We couldn’t have done it without your support!!
Scroll to the bottom of this email to see a few pictures from the Fun Run
Please collect all outstanding pledges (those there were not paid online) and turn them in BY Friday, December 2.
HOLIDAY GIVING TREE
In the spirit of helping others during the holidays, ACS is sponsoring a Holiday Giving Tree for some of our families in need. Beginning on December 2nd, you may come into the front office and take a tag or two off the tree. Each tag contains a few clothing items or small toy ideas for some of our students. Please bring the items to the office by December 9th so our families have time to pick them up before the winter break. Thank you for your generosity!
2023 - 2024 SCHOOL CALENDAR
The 2023 - 2024 ACS Calendar was Board approved by the Board on 11.17.22
Please make note of:
Fall Break; Winter Break; & Spring Break and the Summer Break - Be sure you schedule any vacations/trips around the dates that school is not in session.
The First Day of School for Students is: August 8, 2023
It is available on the school website under Parents > School Calendar & Schedules
LUNCH REMINDERS
If you need to drop off a lunch for your child, it must be brought to the office by 11:30am for all grade levels, so that we can make sure it is delivered to their lunch baskets before lunch begins.
Please remember that drinks must be in a sealed or spill proof container. We cannot deliver drinks in typical fast food cups with lids and straws.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

LOST & FOUND
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! Weather permitting, we will place lost and found outside the front of the school during the morning car line.
All items left unclaimed by December 16 will be donated.
Please consider labeling your child’s jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, etc. so they can be returned and won’t end up in Lost and Found.
4-H COAT DRIVE & DAY OF GIVING
Alamance Community 4-H club will be holding a coat drive starting Monday, November 21st to kick off our season of giving back!
Please bring your gently used, clean, wearable coats to school to donate.
We are also accepting gently used hats, gloves and scarves, as well as new unworn socks!
You, or your child, can place contributions in the big purple donation barrels located at the gym and front entrance of the school.
Coats remaining in the lost and found at the end of the collection period will also be donated to the drive.
All donations are due to the school no later than December 14th!
Alamance Community 4-H will also be hosting a Day of Giving Back on Saturday, December 10th in the ACS gym from 10-2pm.
This event is free and open to all families!
Please join us for a day of charity and fundraising for our club.
In addition to accepting coat drive donations, we will also be accepting donations of nonperishable food items and toiletries.
Families will have the opportunity to make blankets, crafts and cards to support various charitable organizations.
There will be concessions as well as activities such as pictures with Mrs. Claus, face painting and cookie decorating available for purchase to help raise funds for our club.
We will also have a gift wrapping station set up so bring your gifts for us to wrap while you enjoy the event! We look forward to seeing you there and participating in this day of service as a pack!
