NC Check-In 3 Assessment Schedule

  • After Spring Break, our 3rd - 5th graders will be participating in NC Check-In 3s for Reading, Math and Science (5th grade only). Please refer to the assessment schedule below.

Check-Ins are an opportunity for your child to show what they know. These are ways for you to help your child do their best:

  • Please make sure your child gets a solid night of rest the night before an assessment.

  • Please make sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast before coming to school.

  • Please arrive on time and even a few minutes early, so your child can get settled and not be hurried or stressed upon arriving at school in the morning.

  • Remind your child they are ready for this, to do their best, and they will do an amazing job!

  • If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or you may contact our Testing Coordinator, Leslie Jewell at ljewell@alamancecommunityschool.net.

IMMEDIATE CALL TO ACTION: HB 219

As you may know, lawmakers in the General Assembly have filed H 219 Charter School Omnibus. Other than the original bill authorizing charter schools in 1996, this legislation is the most important bill that charter advocates in our state have ever seen! The problem: Local administrators are shortchanging funding for public charter school students. The solution: HB 219 would ensure local funding fairness in public education, requiring money to follow the child—whether that child attends a public charter or public district school. SEE ATTACHMENTS to this email for talking points, resources and a form letter. CONTACT YOUR STATE LEGISLATOR TODAY!

  • Please contact us at frontdesk@alamancecommunityschool.net, if you have to miss your appointment.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ACS FOOD PANTRY

  • Our ACS Food Pantry is starting to get a bit depleted. Each week ACS provides weekend meal bags, breakfast/snack items and toiletries/cleaning products to 10-20 of our families (depending on their request).

  • We would truly appreciate donations of simple boxed meals, canned goods, breakfast items, pasta, rice, crackers, peanut butter, jelly, cleaning wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, and shampoo.

  • Items may be dropped off at the front office or students may bring them to the art room.

DONATIONS TO FRONT OFFICE REQUESTED

  • The Front Office is accepting donations of Band-Aids, tissues, hand soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, sanitizing wipes and plastic zip-lock baggies. These will be helpful for the whole school and various classrooms when needed. Thank you!
