Katherine Paone
Speech Language Pathologist
Katherine Paone holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences-Disorders from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Science in Communication Sciences-Disorders from East Carolina University. She is an American Speech-Language and Hearing Association license holder as well as a licensed North Carolina Speech Language Pathologist. Katherine has been a speech-language pathologist since 2010.
Katherine has has worked exclusively with the pediatric population in private practice, schools and outpatient settings treating children with a broad range of diagnoses, including speech sound disorders, receptive/expressive language disorder, pragmatic language deficits, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, other chromosomal disorders, and TBI. She loves working with children to help every child achieve their full potential and has experience using verbal language, simple signs, picture exchange, and speech generating devices.
Therapy typically involves meeting the child where they are by following their interests and incorporating play-based techniques to keep sessions fun and engaging. Katherine's passion is literacy as she is an Orton Gillingham trained therapist and utilizes literacy within therapy as much as possible.
Outside of therapy, you can find Katherine attending NC State football and basketball games, traveling and spending time with her husband, two sons, and her Goldendoodle Basil.
