Karen Cozart

Karen Cozart comes to ACS with over 10 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant at the elementary school level and she is absolutely thrilled to be part of the Coyote Pack! Karen graduated from UNCG with a BA degree in Communications - Public Relations. She was raised in Durham and over the years had the opportunity to live in Georgia, New Jersey and Florida but NC is her heart and home. Karen’s passion is establishing great relationships with parents, students and staff to work together for providing what is best for all students’ academic learning and social and emotional growth. She is here to assist everyone and if she doesn’t know the answers to your questions, she will help find them!

Karen is a proud mother of three grown children. Her oldest son is married and her middle son and daughter are in college. She loves going to Boone to enjoy the mountain air and attend Appalachian State Football games. Karen loves cooking, music concerts and has a dream to become a bee keeper one day! She currently lives in Durham with her loyal canine companion, Sunny.
