Jamie Miller

Principal

Jamie Miller grew up in Durham, NC. She holds a degree in education from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She has taught multiple elementary grade levels and has previously worked for Durham Public Schools, Granville County Schools, and a charter school in Durham prior to joining ACS. Mrs. Miller has developed a love and appreciation for Project Based Learning and The Responsive Classroom, an approach to establishing a positive classroom community that values the social and emotional growth of students as well as the academic growth. She values relationships with students and their families and looks forward to partnering with them at Alamance Community School as they work together to do the important job of guiding students through their educational journey.

Mrs. Miller lives with her husband and two daughters in Bahama, a small community in north Durham. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, listening to podcasts, working in the yard, and learning new things. She is thrilled to be part of Alamance Community School.
