Heather Darden

EC Teacher

Heather Darden graduated from Appalachian State University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Adapted Special Education K-12 and has since added General Special Education K-12 to her area of experience. Mrs. Darden has been lucky to be able to teach at all grade levels K-12 throughout her career which began in August of 2007 at the High School Level. She has experience working in both the public school system, as well as Charter school experience. She believes that relationships are a key part of education and works diligently to foster those with students and families. She will be continuing her graduate studies in Special Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was born in Florida, but grew up in Alamance County, graduating from Southern Alamance High School. In her free time, she enjoys reading, music, crafting, working with the youth group at her church and spending time with family. She is thrilled to be joining the Coyote pack and excited to bring her twin boys with her to ACS.
