Jamie Miller is excited to join the third grade team at Alamance Community School. She holds a degree in elementary education from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and has 16 years of teaching experience. Her classroom experience includes teaching first, second, and third grades. She worked for Durham Public Schools for four years, Granville County Schools for four years, and most recently, Voyager Academy, a charter school in Durham, for eight years. During her time at Voyager Academy, Mrs. Miller developed a love and appreciation for Project Based Learning and The Responsive Classroom, an approach to establishing a positive classroom community that values the social and emotional growth of students as well as the academic growth. She values relationships with students and their families and looks forward to partnering with them at Alamance Community School as they work together to do the important job of guiding students through their educational journey.
Mrs. Miller lives with her husband and two daughters in Bahama, a small community in north Durham. She enjoys spending time with family, working in the yard, and learning new things. She is thrilled to be part of Alamance Community School.
