Claire Hudzinski is Alamance Community School’s part time art teacher. Claire graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance with a concentration in jazz dance and is currently pursuing her teachers licensure in Art Education. Claire is a former (19 years) dance studio owner in Durham, so she has many years of teaching multiple ages under her belt. She has also served as the musical theatre director at Mangum Elementary for the last 7 years. Coming from a family of educators, she knew that she wanted to go back to school to receive her teaching licensure in art to teach at the elementary school level. Claire’s approach to Art Education is both art focused and student centered. Creating a learning environment where students experience a broad range of general knowledge that reflects an understanding of the communities and world in which we live is important to her. Art should be meaningful, fun and be able to apply to things in the outside world. She believes in the importance of exposing students to as much art as possible in a variety of different ways.
Outside of teaching, Claire enjoys being creative and has a love for photography. She has two boys; one who is 16 and is at Riverside High School in the Engineering Program in Durham, and one who is a 6th grader at Discovery Charter School. Claire loves the beach, reading and is excited about being a part of Alamance Community School!
